I hope you are all having fabulous spring seasons at your stores! Big congrats to Erin from one of my accounts- Natural Strides in Georgia- for winning the Nashville Country Music Marathon– in her “Chain Reaction” Sweaty Band of course!! Great job Erin!!! Erin is also sporting the popular Running Skirts Black Paisley “Run Buns!”
For those of you following my postpartum running experience, I wanted to share my run at the Salt Lake Half Marathon a few weeks ago: let’s just say I felt really strong and awesome until the 10k… then struggled to stay on pace by mile 8. I totally hit the wall at mile 11 and spent the last few miles trying to be nice to myself as I felt my weakened abs fatiguing and anxiety about getting to the finish to feed the baby. I did relish in the fact that racing pain hurts WAY less than being in labor. All that said, I truly enjoyed being out there and sharing the experience with everyone. 1:51 and change was about 14 min off my PR from last April but was such a gift to see my little girl waiting at the finish (and at mile 8) -thank you to my husband for making that happen! I’m now dealing with some shin splints…related to a rotated pelvis from childbirth and the weak core—yes, so much fun! Lots of strength and rehab still to be done! Here’s a little picture of me and my training partner with “our” medal after the race:
